About

Harner Brothers CSA started in 2012 in an effort to provide homegrown produce for consumers who desire the joys of a garden.

Harner Brothers CSA is owned by Kristin and Steve Harner and their sons, Keith and Sam. Since we both grew up on farms, we wanted to provide this learning opportunity and family togetherness for our children.

Kristin’s family still farms near Tracy, Minnesota where they raise corn, soybeans, alfalfa and beef cattle cow/calf to market. When Kristin was at home, they also raised pigs.

Kristin graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and minors in agricultural business and agricultural marketing. She works for North Dakota State University and previously for Minnesota Farm Bureau. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with their sons, baking, sports, teaching Sunday school, serving on the Northfield James Gang Wrestling board of directors and assisting with 4-H and FFA.

Steve grew up near Xenia, Ohio where their family raised corn, soybeans and wheat, milked dairy cows and raised fish. He also assisted on his aunt, uncle and cousin’s farm near Tolstoy, South Dakota where they raise corn, soybeans, winter wheat, sorghum, sunflowers and beef cattle.

Steve graduated from Hocking Technical College in Hocking, Ohio with a two-year degree in fisheries and wildlife management and from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife management. Steve is the owner/operator for Harner’s Home Improvements. In Steve’s spare time, he enjoys woodworking, hunting, playing with his sons, as well as, serving on the Northfield James Gang Wrestling board of directors, serving as a coach for the Northfield Youth Baseball Association, secretary of the Cannon River Sportsmen’s Club and previously serving on the Northfield Montessori Board of Directors.
