Closing out 2012

Happy New Year! I don’t know where the time has went. I do know that the remainder of the fall was busy cleaning up the garden and preparing for winter. The boys are excited about doing a CSA in 2013.

Year-End Surveys

Please remember to turn in your year-end survey’s to provide us with valuable feedback as we prepare for the upcoming growing season. Yes, I do know today was -15 degrees, but we are optimistic that spring will be here before we know it.

Contracts

Also, if you were a shareholder in 2012, please let us know of your intentions in 2013 as we do have a waiting list for the upcoming year.

This winter, we shelled some popcorn. After visiting with my dad, we found out they used to grow popcorn in their garden and that adding about 1 teaspoon to a pint of the shelled popcorn brought the moisture content in the kernels up and in turn we had more kernels popping.

As 2012 comes to a close and we welcome in 2013, we have been receiving in our seed catalogs. This is a good time to remind you that if you would like to be a member of the CSA in 2013 to let us know. We appreciate everyone's support as we strive to teach our boys the value of this agriculture adventure. Wishing all of you a Happy New Year!
